Introduction from Anthony Cross on joining the Benefice.

Hello. My name is Anthony Cross and I am now formally an ordinand (priest in training) in the Church of England. I have met many of you over the course of the past year, during which I have been gaining experience by taking services across the benefice. My training involves studying full-time for two years at Sarum College in Salisbury, which is a distance-learning course with a summer school and seven residential weekends per year. As part of this, I spend Sundays and Thursdays taking a greater part in benefice life. I will also be attending some of the social events in and organized by the churches.

As part of this, I will be taking a service of Morning Prayer (Common Worship) at Michelmersh Church at 9:15am each Thursday morning.  This is a short, said service, which everyone is welcome to attend. On alternate weeks, the plan is to go for coffee afterwards at Poppies Café at Choice Plants in Timsbury. The planned dates for coffee between now and Christmas are:

21st September                       2nd November                         14th December

5th October                             16th November

19th October                           30th November

I will also be taking one Sunday service per month within the benefice. I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you all better over the next two years.
