Introduction from Anthony Cross on joining the Benefice.

Hello. My name is Anthony Cross and I am now formally an ordinand (priest in training) in the Church of England. I have met many of you over the course of the past year, during which I have been gaining experience by taking services across the benefice. My training involves studying full-time for two years at Sarum College in Salisbury, which is a distance-learning course with a summer school and seven residential weekends per year. As part of this, I spend Sundays and Thursdays taking a greater part in benefice life. I will also be attending some of the social events in and organized by the churches.

As part of this, I will be taking a service of Morning Prayer (Common Worship) at Michelmersh Church at 9:15am each Thursday morning.  This is a short, said service, which everyone is welcome to attend. On alternate weeks, the plan is to go for coffee afterwards at Poppies Café at Choice Plants in Timsbury.

I will also be taking one Sunday service per month within the benefice. I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you all better over the next two years.
